How do children learn to adjust their way of talking based on what they think someone else understands? What impact do different social factors in early childhood have on this? And does brain development play a role in this? These are questions I'm exploring in my PhD research! We'll be observing how 3- and 4-year-old children play and talk with others at daycare. We want to find out if the amount and type of interactions influence their communication skills two years later, when they are 5 to 6 years old. We're also curious about whether and which changes in the brain have an effect on how children interact and talk with others. We'll be investigating this using (f)MRI.

I started my PhD with the BabyBRAIN group in January 2024. Perhaps we'll meet soon at the Baby & Child Research Center!
