Differences in humans exist in countless ways, with variability being apparent in many aspects of life, from an atomic to the social level. Children differ remarkably in how they acquire language, and yet, after years of learning, they manage to arrive at a level of adult-like communication. Little research has been done on how children differ in their journey of language acquisition, not only between them but also with themselves across time. How do children manage to acquire language at similar levels across time? What makes some children faster than others in learning language and how do children differ with their past-selves over development? My aim is to better understand how language and children’s individual differences are at play in language acquisition over development.

In October 2022, I started a PhD focused on variability in first language acquisition. For this, I might be found in the lab doing research. Who knows, maybe we'll meet there!
