My name is Leonie Heijmans. I am a master's student in Biomedical Sciences at Radboud University with a specialization in Medical Neuroscience. I am currently doing my research internship at the Developmental Psychobiology lab, where I support the data collection and administration of the PEPO project. In this project, a perinatal mental health support worker will be deployed in obstetric practices to investigate whether this helps in the detection and support of mental health problems of mothers.

I also conduct research on the mental health of mothers both during and after childbirth. For this I use data from other projects such as BIBO & SMILEY. Through statistical analyses, I try to discover whether and what kind of relationship there is between mental health during pregnancy and mental health years later.
