For my PhD at Utrecht University, I work as a guest researcher at the BRC. I have a background in cognitive neuropsychology and artificial intelligence. In my doctoral research, I analyze methods and techniques used by (developmental) psychologists in their research practices. I focus on the application of onto-epistemological issues such as: what can we know, given a certain technology or method; in what specific ways do these methods and technologies contribute to the data we can gather, and, in extension, what conclusions we can draw from them (and what we cannot).
Currently, I am investigating the possibility of (partially) automating the analysis of video data. In previous work, I explored the data quality of various eye trackers and the challenges arising from using different eye trackers in longitudinal or multisited studies.
