About me

HomeLanguage DevelopmentAbdellah Elouatiq

I am a research assistant at the Language Development Department at the MPI. I am interested in speech perception in general but specifically how listeners (infants and adults) can find the beginnings and ends of words despite the lack of pauses in running speech.

I am currently working with Caroline Rowland and Evan Kidd on the Language Acquisition Sketch project where we aim to study languages that do not get enough attention in the child language acquisition literature. I will be responsible for travelling to Morocco to record infants between 2 and 4 years old and their parents who speak Tashelhiyt Berber and then draw a map of which structures they learn at what age.
