In my research, I focus on the first 1000 days of life. I am interested in how certain factors during and after pregnancy can affect (psychological) wellbeing and behavior of parents and children. During my PhD, I examined whether mindfulness and parent-infant bonding contributed in a positive way to the social-emotional development of the infant. As a postdoctoral researcher, I work on a project that will investigate the role of physical closeness between parents and their children in early postpartum period, and how this could influence the wellbeing of fathers, mothers and children in the first years of life, as well as later childhood and adolescence.
