My name is Marthe and this year I am doing my Cognitive Neuroscience Master's internship at the BabyBRAIN group. Here, I will be investigating motor development and brain signals in babies. During the first two years of life, a child’s motor skills develop incredibly rapidly. This is accompanied by changes and development in the part of the brain that controls movement. However, babies sometimes move a little too much during a study, which makes it difficult for us to interpret the brain signals. Through my research, I am trying to better identify which part of the brain signals corresponds to these involuntary movements, and I am investigating whether that part can also provide us with information about a child’s motor development.

In addition to these activities, you can find me working on Jule Hafermannresearch, which looks at the influence of babytalk on language development. I'll be helping with testing and administrative tasks there.
